Join us Thursday, April 28 at 4 PM for an exhibition walkthrough and conversation between artist Masako Miki and gallery director Aimee Friberg. They will discuss Miki’s work and her exhibition Conversations with Fox, Feather, and Ghost, currently on view at CULT | Aimee Friberg Exhibitions. Artist and tea practitioner Momaca Usagi will serve Japanese tea ceremony beneath Miki’s paper lantern installation, Kaeru (A Way Home), 2016. French and Japanese sweets prepared by Eriko Yahiro, pâtissier at Chez Panisse, will accompany the ceremony.

Originally from Nagoya, Japan, Eriko Yahiro has created desserts and sweets for Ramen Shop, Blue Bottle Coffee and Tartine Bakery. She currently is a full time pâtissier at Chez Panisse in Berkeley, California.

Momoca Usagi is a native of Tochigi, Japan and currently resides in Berkeley, California. She founded Momoca, a boutique for art, design and interiors in Berkeley in 2004. Her creative practice includes installation and various performative crafts such as tea ceremony, Ikebana flower arrangement, and ceramics.
